Profile of G.P.Women’s College Imphal: The College Ghanapriya Women’s College, Imphal (NAAC Accredited) is a premier college in the whole of North-East India. It was established in the year 1965 with the specific purpose of taking care of the girl students studying in various co-educational colleges in the state and also in the fulfilment of demands of the wide spectrum of educationists and intellectuals who had been clamouring for a long time for a separate college meant for Girls only.

The College is affiliated to Manipur University, Canchipur. For the girls, G.P Women’s College is a congenial place for education. The College offers General and Honours courses in both the streams of Humanities and Science leading to the Bachelor Degree & Master Degree (Life Sciences).

The main aim of the college is to provide equal access to education for women so as to enable them to carry the gender equality into effect, to motivate women for a greater involvement of them in science and technology by evolving a scientific temper and generate an awareness of latest technology among them, to participate actively in game and sports to raise the standard of performances at national and international level, to participate in the cultural programs to uphold the tradition of the rich cultural heritage of the state and to provide the awareness of health and nutrition to women in view of the high risk of malnutrition, diseases and health problems of women.

About CCEAM: The Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration & Management is an organization dedicated to fostering cooperative & collaborative exchanges internationally amongst educational aspirants, management, professionals and administrators. The CCEAM is affiliated to the CCfE (the Commonwealth Consortium for Education) which provides a forum through which the concerns of the CCEAM and its affiliated members can make representations and participate in Commonwealth activities. It has chapters globally. In India many states have its States Chapters. Manipur State is proud to declare that it had successfully launch CCEAM chapter in October 2016.

Structure of Conference: Are our actions moving us closer to social justice or further away? The challenge of social justice is in essence the challenge of social opportunity and for equal protection of the laws. The legal system in civilized societies has to concern itself increasingly with system and strategies, policies and procedures, interpretations and approaches conducive to the promotion of equality, quality of good life and equal justice for all. The urgent need in Environmental education is to develop a global understanding of perspective of the ecological, economic & moral considerations, happiness in the content of the total environment, with an extension of the classification and appreciation of other cultures, beyond one’s own national & international boundaries. Today the challenge before legislators and judicial statement is to develop appropriate policies and relevant tools to promote equality with freedom and protect fundamental rights with social justice.
